Banana Chips is our traditional food, especially for snack this food becomes more famous cause has the slim shape and nice taste. This chip has been our traditional food since our ancestor gives the tips how to take care on banana. Banana is our plants that grow up fertile in Asia. Perhaps, it causes the climate that is appropriate in Indonesia. From the west till the east, we could find the banana plant and all of them grow up fertile.

Raw banana to make chips banana
It becomes our tradition when the people make the banana as our additional food. The banana could be porridge, chips, fried banana, or desserts. Beside that the monkey like banana. The banana usually grow up in the jungle, but now you could find the banana trees in every single village in Indonesia.

Here they are the recipes to make banana chips:
1 kilos banana
2 -4 teaspoons of whiting (to make the banana more be crackers)
2 litter water
2 kg cooking oil

How to make the spices that need to be mashed:
10 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of coriander
3 cm turmeric
4-6 tablespoons of salt or as your wish (just to make your chips delicious)

How to make the chips banana:
Peel the banana from the skin then wash with water and slice thinly in long shape for about 5-4 cm.
Add the spices into water then put the slice banana wait till the spices infiltrate on the banana.
Fry it, don’t do such as long frying, cause it could make your banana chips burn.

Tea, milk, and eggs are kinds of drink or beverage comes from Medan North Sumatra. This beverage is very famous in Medan. Actually, the recipe is simple. Because you just need Eggs, milk, and tea to make it. This beverage becomes favorite for adult people while they hang out in Saturday night, usually they drop in small drink stall for buying this drink. If we talk about the nutrition of this beverage contains many helpful vitamins,  and make our body to be strong and get more spirit. It could be one of the beverage that could make our stamina back soon, if You got tired.

How to make it:
Break the 2 eggs take the core or the yellow one on it. (put in the mixer and turn it on, wait until it would be more soft and fluffy)
Prepare your glass that already added by the tea.
Pour the eggs in the glass, and then add the milk. Mix well
Serve it.

Pindang catfish is very famous in Sumatra Island. It was different from Fish Pindang like in Java Island which has been made by tuna steam.

Pindang catfish is very famous in Sumatra Island. It was different from Fish Pindang like in Java Island which has been made by tuna steam.
This food uses catfish to make it and there were much water as it soup. Here they are the recipes:
Ingredients:
800 grams of catfish (Ikan Patin)
1000 ml of water

Seasoning that should be mashed:
10 red onions
5 cloves of garlics
6 big red chilies

You need to steam these ingredients as well:
6 cm galangal (thinly sliced)
3 cm turmeric (sliced)
4 cm ginger (sliced)
4 stalks lemongrass (crushed)
15 pieces of cayenne pepper
5 green tomatoes (cut)
4 tamarinds
4 bay leaves
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3½ salt or to taste
2 teaspoons of brown sugar

How to make Pindang Catfish (Ikan Patin)
Wash the catfish, the cut into 4-6 parts or as you want.
Boil water with all of the ingredients of that you have steamed (wait until boiled). Enter catfish and other seasoning, using low heat to cook it (wait until all of the flavors absorbed in the fish just need a few minutes). Lift it.
Serve it.  Give basil to make it more fragrant. ;)

Tempoyak is durian fruit that has been fermented with a salt. This is malay origin food, because most of the ancestor Indonesian is a malay, so they still keep this traditional food

Tempoyak is durian fruit that has been fermented with a salt. This is malay origin food, because most of the ancestor Indonesian is a malay, so they still keep this traditional food. You could find out this food in Sumatran Island.
Jambi, Bengkulu, Lampung, are the durian fruit planting. So today I would like to show how to make tempoyak this is very simple food above all.

Ingredients:
Durian fruit (choose the ripe and take the pulp)
Salt to taste
Cooking oil

Sauce ingredients that should be mashed:
6 red onions
3 garlics
5 pieces of red chili
4 cayenne peppers
1½ teaspoons of sugar

How to make Tempoyak:
Take the pulp from the fruit, than give salt to taste.
Put it in the topless save it for about a week.
After a week you may add the Ingredients sauce with tempoyak mix it all then sauté all of the in frying pan using cooking oil.

Serve it to your family.
