Unique food today would talk about the stangest food in the world. The strangest food in the world today is sago worm from Papua INA.
Even there are a lot unique or strange food from others but today. I would tell you about my traditional food that propbably you didn't know it before. The strangest food today from Papua (Irian Jaya).

Many people know about this little thing, and it becomes our tradition for eating sago worm.


What's is Sago Worm?


Sago worm is kind of worm or caterpillar that lived in sago tree. And it is not just small worm but big worm. :D

Maybe, some of you afraid of these little things but, those all taste delicious. One thing that you should know about this food, the food contains of a lot of nutritions  9.40 % protein, essential amino acids, aspartic acid 1.85%, glutamic acid 2.35%, tyrosine 1.90%, lysine 1.97% then methionin 1.07 %.

You may think that the people would take the sago worm from the trees when it's alive. As the matter of fact, people took the sago worm from the tress when it was cut by the people, then they leave it for several days, and the sago worm would come on that sago tree.

How to make easy chips from banana (Banana Chips) Indonesia Traditional Food, Keripik Pisang

Banana Chips is our traditional food, especially for snack this food becomes more famous cause has the slim shape and nice taste. This chip has been our traditional food since our ancestor gives the tips how to take care on banana. Banana is our plants that grow up fertile in Asia. Perhaps, it causes the climate that is appropriate in Indonesia. From the west till the east, we could find the banana plant and all of them grow up fertile.

It becomes our tradition when the people make the banana as our additional food. The banana could be porridge, chips, fried banana, or desserts. Beside that the monkey like banana. The banana usually grow up in the jungle, but now you could find the banana trees in every single village in Indonesia.

Here they are the recipes to make banana chips:
1 kilos banana
2 -4 teaspoons of whiting (to make the banana more be crackers)
2 litter water
2 kg cooking oil

How to make the spices that need to be mashed:
10 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of coriander
3 cm turmeric
4-6 tablespoons of salt or as your wish (just to make your chips delicious)

How to make the chips banana:
Peel the banana from the skin then wash with water and slice thinly in long shape for about 5-4 cm.
Add the spices into water then put the slice banana wait till the spices infiltrate on the banana.
Fry it, don’t do such as long frying, cause it could make your banana chips burn.

How to make soup of cassava (Cara Membuat Kolak Singkong) easily with smooth taste

Kolak Singkong is also our traditional food. To make kolak singkong or cassava’s soup is easy way to do. Many people would like to have this soup when in the cool weather. In another way we could have this soup through adding the ices in this soup to get fresh taste in hot weather. So weather we consume it in with hot and cool soup,

Kolak Singkong is also our traditional food especially from Java and Sumatra island. To make kolak singkong or cassava’s soup is easy way to do.
Many people would like to have this soup when in the cool weather. In another way we could have this soup through adding the ices in this soup to get fresh taste in hot weather. So weather we consume it in with hot and cool soup, the cassava soup still tastes delicious. Then for this recipe is very simple one, you just need to boil the cassava until smooth and combine with brown sugar.
Kolak Singkong is also our traditional food especially from Java and Sumatra island
Cassava Soup and Banana
There is secret recipe to make it more delicious. To change the brown sugar is used in the ingredient with sugar palm (gula aren). Then here they are the recipes:

Ingredients:
400 grams of cassava (cut in small pieces 4-5 cm), Choose the best cassava to make it (Mempur Cassava)
300 grams of banana (cut in small pieces too)
700 ml of coconut milk
2-5 ounces of sugar
5 ounces of palm sugar
1200 ml water
3 pandan leaves
1 pack of vanilla
10 tablespoons of milk

How to make the Kolak Singkong:
Boil the water and the cassava for about 60 minutes, or (wait until the cassava smooth or tender)
Enter the coconut milk and others ingredient into the boiled water. (you need to wait until they are all well done). It takes for about 10-13 minutes.
Serve it. ;)

How to make Emping Melinjo (Cracker chips) Completely, and How to Fry it

Emping is one of our traditional foods that have spread into many places and provinces. Emping come from Javanese. This food made from seeds of Gnetum gnemon (species of Gnetum) that lives in southeast asia and western pacific ocean. We could find this plan in Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and others.

Emping is one of our traditional foods that have spread into many places and provinces. Emping come from Javanese. This food made from seeds of Gnetum gnemon (species of Gnetum) that lives in southeast asia
and western pacific ocean. We could find this plan in Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and others. Usually the seeds use to make sour vegetable soup or cracker chips like Emping.

So, We could create our traditional foods base on our place, region, province, and culture. That’s why we try to introduce our traditional food to you all. Indonesia is interesting.

Today, I am going to show you how to make cracker chips from Melinjo seeds.

Ingredients:
1 kilo of Melinjo seeds
Mortar
Spatula

How to make Emping:

The Fist step take the Melinjo seeds from the tree, so they are going to be like this picture.

 Then peel the leather from the seeds.

Next, Roast the melinjo on the frying pan but don't use frying oil.
after that, crashed the melinjo until flat and the leather clean from it. Like this picture.

Next, Dry the Melinjos that have been flat under the sun, wait until it becomes dry and hard.

Then the last step, fry the dry Melinjos into frying fan use frying oil. (wait until well done) then lift.
Serve it. ;)
You may add a little of salt to taste to make it more delicious.

How to Make “Fried Tempe” (Tempe Mendoan) Delicious Taste from Indonesian Food


Because of the fried tempe has been available in all most of region of Indonesia Java Island, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi, Sumatra, Bali and Lombok know this food. One of fried tempe that is very famous is “Tempe Mendoan”.

Fried Tempe is the most popular of Indonesian food. Because of the fried tempe has been available in all most of region of Indonesia Java Island, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi, Sumatra, Bali and Lombok know this food. One of fried tempe that is very famous is “Tempe Mendoan”.
Tempe mendoan comes from purwokerto. Now not only purwokerto, but also every places provided this food, then I am sure you can find it wherever in our country.  

Ingredients:
750 grams of Tempe (soya bean cake then sliced wide)
400 grams wheat flour
2 teaspoons of tapioca
500 ml of water
3 leeks (slice thinly)
Frying oil to fry

Seasonings that should be mashed:
4-5 garlics
2½ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoons of coriander
Galingale (optional)

Soy Sauce Delicious Taste (mashed):
4-7 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic
2 red onions
5 pieces of red chili
Salt to taste

How to cook TempeGoreng “Fried Tempe”:
Mix all the ingredients namely: wheat flour, tapioca, water, leeks add little salt to taste stir well.
Enter the Tempe into the dough then fry it, wait until it has cooked. Lift
Serve with soy sauce or you could consume it while you are eating.

Aunu Senerbre is one of our traditional foods from Papua (New Guinea). Probably some of you curious about this recipe, because this recipe is really natural then it didn’t need many ingredients to make it.

Aunu Senerbre is one of our traditional foods from Papua (New Guinea). Probably some of you curious about this recipe, because this recipe is really natural then it didn’t need many ingredients to make it.
If you want to know, how to make it and how it looks like? I will share the Indonesian Traditional Recipe from Papua New Guinea.

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams of anchovies (you must choose the anchovies that’s still wet)
  • 3 taro leaves and trees (cut in pieces)
  • 1½ coconut (shredded)
  • 1½ teaspoons of salt or to taste

How to make it:

  1. The first step is “wash and rinse the anchovies wet then fry a half of cooked.
  2. Dry the taro leaves until it’s getting wilted then slice, and boil until it smooth (then lift and press or squeeze the water. Add the anchovies, coconut shredded, salt to the water.
  3. Then the last step is “steam it until cooked”.

Fried rice is one of another our traditional foods that come from Javanese. Because of its taste, that’s very delicious many people choose this food. Fried rice is really appropriate to serve in the morning or in the night. If you walk around the street in our country you could find this food. Not only native Indonesian that want to have this food. But if you visit Jogjakarta you will find a lot of fried rice seller.  This post would tell you how to make fried rice by yourself.

Moreover if you serve this fried rice in the morning for your family. It could be some of interesting dish in your table.  It is very simple and easy to make fried rice by yourself, and it didn’t need a lot of ingredients that probably you could not find it in around your home. Let’s check for the menu to make fried rice (Traditional Food from Indonesia). You just need rice and a little additional seasoning.

Ingredients:

  • 350 grams of rice
  • 50 grams of shrimp (cleaned it)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of cooking oil (This cooking oil for sautéing)

Seasoning that we have to be mashed:

  • 5 pieces of chili
  • 2 teaspoons of shrimp paste
  • 8 pieces of red onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1½ teaspoons of coriander
  • 1 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of salt, or to taste

Additional complement for Fried Rice:

  • 3 eggs (mix with salt and fry)
  • Cucumber
  • Fried onions

How to cook fried rice:

  1. Fry all of the seasoning wait until it’s done and smell fragrant. Add the 4 tablespoons of water, soy sauce stir it well.
  2. Enter the shrimp (stir until one minute). And then add the rice; stir it continuously or constantly until it’s done. I suggest to you don’t use big fire to heat the rice, low heat is better.

Serve this fried rice (Nasi Goreng) with additional complement such as tomatoes, cucumber, and fried egg, and then sprinkle the fried onions.
