How to make easy chips from banana (Banana Chips) Indonesia Traditional Food, Keripik Pisang

Banana Chips is our traditional food, especially for snack this food becomes more famous cause has the slim shape and nice taste. This chip has been our traditional food since our ancestor gives the tips how to take care on banana. Banana is our plants that grow up fertile in Asia. Perhaps, it causes the climate that is appropriate in Indonesia. From the west till the east, we could find the banana plant and all of them grow up fertile.

Raw banana to make chips banana
It becomes our tradition when the people make the banana as our additional food. The banana could be porridge, chips, fried banana, or desserts. Beside that the monkey like banana. The banana usually grow up in the jungle, but now you could find the banana trees in every single village in Indonesia.

Here they are the recipes to make banana chips:
1 kilos banana
2 -4 teaspoons of whiting (to make the banana more be crackers)
2 litter water
2 kg cooking oil

How to make the spices that need to be mashed:
10 cloves of garlic
3 tablespoons of coriander
3 cm turmeric
4-6 tablespoons of salt or as your wish (just to make your chips delicious)

How to make the chips banana:
Peel the banana from the skin then wash with water and slice thinly in long shape for about 5-4 cm.
Add the spices into water then put the slice banana wait till the spices infiltrate on the banana.
Fry it, don’t do such as long frying, cause it could make your banana chips burn.

Cassava is our plant that almost grows up in all of region in Indonesia. I could conclude that 30% farmer in Indonesia plant cassava, 50% for planting rice, and 20% for planting spices.
Indonesian Traditional Food named Fried Cassava
Cassava is our plant that almost grows up in all of region in Indonesia. I could conclude that 30% farmer in Indonesia plant cassava, 50% for planting rice, and 20% for planting spices.
So cassava in my country is like a daily necessary for a farmer. Give it to try to make fried cassava from my country recipe.

Ingredients:         
700 grams of cassava

Seasoning that should be mashed:
3 teaspoons of salt
2½ teaspoons of coriander powder
5 cloves of garlic

How to cook fried cassava:
Cut into pieces as your wish, and then steam until done.
Combine all of the ingredients seasoning 30-60 ml in a hot water. Then add the cassava steamed (stir well) let it for about 15 minutes to make cassava absorbed the flavors.
Fry the cassava until done (dried cassava).


How to Make “Fried Tempe” (Tempe Mendoan) Delicious Taste from Indonesian Food


Because of the fried tempe has been available in all most of region of Indonesia Java Island, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi, Sumatra, Bali and Lombok know this food. One of fried tempe that is very famous is “Tempe Mendoan”.
Tempe Mendoan
Fried Tempe is the most popular of Indonesian food. Because of the fried tempe has been available in all most of region of Indonesia Java Island, Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi, Sumatra, Bali and Lombok know this food. One of fried tempe that is very famous is “Tempe Mendoan”.
Tempe mendoan comes from purwokerto. Now not only purwokerto, but also every places provided this food, then I am sure you can find it wherever in our country.  

Ingredients:
750 grams of Tempe (soya bean cake then sliced wide)
400 grams wheat flour
2 teaspoons of tapioca
500 ml of water
3 leeks (slice thinly)
Frying oil to fry

Seasonings that should be mashed:
4-5 garlics
2½ teaspoons salt
½ teaspoons of coriander
Galingale (optional)

Soy Sauce Delicious Taste (mashed):
4-7 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic
2 red onions
5 pieces of red chili
Salt to taste

How to cook TempeGoreng “Fried Tempe”:
Mix all the ingredients namely: wheat flour, tapioca, water, leeks add little salt to taste stir well.
Enter the Tempe into the dough then fry it, wait until it has cooked. Lift
Serve with soy sauce or you could consume it while you are eating.

How to Cook Sambas Spicy Porridge From Borneo (Indonesian Recipes From Borneo)

Today unique foods will share about Borneo's Food. Well yesterday we had talked about porridge in Bali. Today we will take a look some of food from Borneo. The recipe of these foods are different from mengguh porridge. Borneo has special spicy porridge then it called SAMBAS porridge, which is very spicy  taste and delicious. it would be most delicious if you consume it one the cool weather. 


Ingredients:


  • 1 kilos of rice (washed)
  • 1 grain of coconut (grated and roasted)
  • Black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of coriander
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 5 grains of onion
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of aniseed
  • 5 red peppers
  • Water at sufficiently to make porridge
  • 250 grams of meat
 

 Additional vegetables for Sambas Porridge:


  • 2 bunches of watercress (trimmed)
  • 1 bunch green beans, (trimmed 1/2cm)
  • 1 ounce of bean sprouts
  • 1 ounce of fried peanut
  • 1 ounce of peas
  • 3 ferns (cleaned)
  • 1 cup of bamboo shoot (boiled till tender)
  • 2 squashes (peeled and cut in 1/2cm)
  • 1 turmeric leaves
  • 3 red sweet potatoes
  • ½ pounds of cabbage (sliced)
  • 1 tofu (crisp cut)
  • 1 ounce of straw mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons of butter

How to cook The Sambas Spicy Porridge:

  1. Wash the rice then drain, and then roast the rice until yellow, add pepper, cumin, anise coriander and roasted until cooked.
  2. Roasted grated coconut till yellow then mashed.
  3. Washed and boiled meat half cooked. And then add the rice after it has been roasted with all of spices, and add the water, so it could be porridge.
  4. Heat the butter, and then sauté onion and garlic until smell fragrant then add to porridge. Enter the sweet potato that has been cut to the porridge.
  5. Put vegetables on the porridge then stir until vegetables are cooked/well done.
Serve during it hot completely with the sauce, lemon and soy sauce.  Enjoy your Spicy Porridge from Borneo. ;)
