Pecel Lele is another dish that almost of Indonesian people like this food. If you were in Indonesia, you could find it in every traditional restaurant.

Pecel Lele is another dish that almost of Indonesian people like this food. If you were in Indonesia, you could find it in every traditional restaurant. But Pecel lele(catfish) usually easy found in Lesehan (small restaurant, which provide for driver and passenger  that close to  high way then they will eat pecel lele (catfish) on the table without the chair, or just sit down on the floor. 


Well what do you think? It is interesting, isn’t it? Yuup,,, that was our tradition. You also could make this food by yourself.  It is very simple and easy, just need catfishes for basic ingredient.

Ingredients:

  • 4 catfishes
  • Cooking Oil

Cooking Spices for fry the fish or subtle flavor:

  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 cm turmeric
  • ½ tablespoon salt

Vegetables:

  • 2 tomatoes (cut 4 pieces)
  • 1 cucumber (sliced oblique)
  • 6 basil leaf
  • Lettuce

Sauce:

  • 5 big red peppers fruits (fried)
  • 10 pieces of cayenne pepper (fried)
  • 2 tomatoes (fried)
  • 4 cloves garlic (fried)
  • 2 spring onions (fried)
  • 4 pieces of hazelnut (fried)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt

How to make Pecel Lele:

  1. Clean the catfish then take the entrails and gills and wash it.
  2. Stir catfish with a subtle flavor. Let stand for ½ hour to allow the flavors absorbed.
  3. Heat the cooking oil in a skillet, cook catfish, fry over medium heat until slightly dry and cooked, and remove.
  4. Mix all sauce ingredients in a mortar, and then crushed.
  5. Pecel Lele serves as a side dish of white rice or with complementary coffee chili paste and vegetables.

Complementary vegetables:

  • Cucumber
  • Basil leaves
  • Tomatoes
  • Lettuce
